I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and a Faculty Fellow at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame. I also coordinate the Notre Dame Latin American Politics Workshop.

I specialize in the international political economy of finance and development. I study how states and business can partner to achieve development, with a focus on how ideas and institutions shape this partnership.

My book project, Globalized State Capitalism, examines the causes and consequences of what I term ‘globalized state capitalism,’ a mode of state intervention whereby governments promote the outward investments of domestic firms. I received funding for this project from the Social Science Research Council, the Smith Richardson Foundation, and the Kellogg Institute and Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies at the University of Notre Dame. My research is published or forthcoming at Comparative Political Studies, International Studies Quarterly and Security Studies.

I earned a Ph.D in Political Science from Brown University and a B.A. in International Studies from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. You can access my CV here
